Hi chaps.

As you may have previously read, I installed a new map the other day and everything seems to be just fine to be honest.

But, when I start her up I can hear a few short and sharp hissing
sounds from the manifold intake area, like air is escaping, but then it stops. This doesn't affect the idling, so I'm not sure what it is.

Also, after reset adaptation process, with the bike running it shows the MAP pressure numbers as 68-69 CYL 1&2 and 65 for CYL 3.
Can anyone confirm if this is normal/acceptable, because the bike seems to run just fine.

Thanks for you help guys.

If your talking about throttle body readings 680 to 690 and 650 there is an exceptable % variation but I set mine to be all the same at 680 or what ever No1 cyl is as this one isn't adjustable so you just balance the other 2 cyls to be the same.. you could bring No3 up a lttle closer maybe.

If you have the stock air filter plenum plastic in place its difficult to get to the adj. screws, easy with triples... just make sure if you do the adjustment that you are not turning the wrong screws.
Oh and crack the throttle after turning the screws to release the throttle shaft tension and recheck the readings.

Thanks for the advice on that.

I know that I need to slightly adjust the TPS I think, as when I did the download and then clicked on adjust ISCV, there was a note at the bottom of the screen to turn nut or something.

I assume that is the screw on the 2nd TPS sensor located at the front end of the throttle bodies.

Do I just turn the screw or loosen the screw and move the black plastic body a bit? Advice on this would be much appreciated.

As far as aligning all the cylinder numbers together i.e 68-68-68,
is that achieved by doing the TPS adjust and reseting adaptations?

Thanks again.

For the TPS here are a couple of helpful links which will give you a better understanding of how to....

What you are trying to do is balance the throttle bodies so they are all about the same.

Confused.

All of your advice is really appreciated.
Yesterday and this morning I've been connected up to my bike trying to go through the TPS steps, but I think I just need a little clarification.

First I clicked on adjust ISCV and it said adjust to 0.60. So then I went the throttle sensor % line in diagnostics and adjusted the secondary TPS sensor at the front end of the bodies. I found this impossible to get bang on .60 but after a while I hit .61 so I quickly tightened up the screw and it remained at .61.

OK, then I went back to test page and clicked on ISCV again and it said adjust stepper nut to .72, I assumed this was the primary TPS from the instructions that I've read and then I adjusted the primary TPS at the rear end of the bodies, and looked at the first line under throttle in the diagnostic page. So then I had .61 on the second line and .71 on the top line.

Then I clicked on ISCV again and it went through 15 seconds of finalizing and said done.

Now, I'm not sure if what I've done is correct. Should I have adjusted the primary TPS to .60? Which number/s am I supposed to be looking at?

Advice much welcomed, thanks! Ben

What program are you using? Tuneboy, TuneEcu... ?

IT is not the secondary you want to adjust it is the primary.

The first time you click on “Adjust ISCV” the program drives the throttles to the fully closed position which should show a reading in the range of 0.60V (+/- 0.02V).
Once set
click on “Adjust ISCV” again and the program drives the throttles to the fully open position which should read the previous reading plus 0.15V or about .75V

Again... this is the primary throttles not the secondaries.

I'm using TuneEcu. So the first message refers to adjusting the PRIMARY TPS located on the right side of the throttle bodies (closest to the OBD cabe)? I was really under the impression that the instructions said adjust the SECONDARY TPS sensor first and then the Primary sensor.

Is that not the case?

Also, my tune has the secondaries open 100&, does that make a difference? Cheers.

Now I feel silly. Thanks for all your help on this one.
I didn't read the kindly provided links carefully enough, and in my haist, I was adjusting the secondary TPS in the voltage page (so at least that's ok at about .61) and on the second click of ISCV, I was then adjusting the primary TPS, using the value above the secondary TPS value in diagnostics page.

To cut a long story short, I was adjust all over the shop and looking at the wrong values.

The lesson, read carefully, re-read carefully and read again if necessary, if you are like me, all three, LOL.

Thanks again, it's all hit home now.

So I've now adjusted the primary TPS to exactly .60 and then it read .70 on the next step of adjust ISCV. Is that OK? as I read it should be .72 give or take .02

Also when I did reset adaptations and started the engine, the idle was a bit erratic, like hunting. Is this normal? Needs to relearn a bit I presume.

Just trying to reassure myself cos I don't want to fiddle much more, if anymore. Thanks chaps.
