Popping with just cat delete

I'd like a little more motor noise from my MOTORcycle and am considering adding the cat delete with the Triumph tune. Do you get decel popping with just the cat delete and stock exhaust?

Yes. I have this set up exactly and it "pops" well. Some people don't like it but I love it. If you want to get rid of the decel pop you need to go down the Tuneboy route.

I do some touring with "management" on the back and I find the cat delete and stock pipes loud enough for this in terms of still being able to use the intercom!

If the dealer installs the tune, no. The ECM has to be retuned for the decreased backpressure in the exhaust. Triumph dealers have the standard re-tune available. If you later add the 5 filter K & N setup you'll need a remap as well. I ran the stock exhaust setup (just bypass) and it was much meatier (less Singer buttonhole model). The decel pop didn't arrive with a vengence until I went with the K & N setup. That Tuneboy resolved nicely. Good luck.

I just fitted a bypass pipe and it sounds much better and pops a little. I'm hunting down a set of tors now and will get a highflow filter too then it will get a remap.

My first mod was Maddog pipes & cat delete. The dealer tune didn't deal with decel pop & backfire.... Tuneboy , however, did 8)
