Phantom Red haze 1700 pics

I hope the T-bird doesn't have that box under the bike for the exhaust like the R3 .... this guy will be setting the grass on fire it it does. LOL :p

Phil R, thanks for the pic. Your's appears to be outfitted much like I am having mine done except I didn't get the bags. How is the dual seat with the backrest? I am keeping that option on the backburner till I see how I like the solo seat set up.

I'm still a little confused on the side cover...your's says 104 ci while I have seen other versions having 1700 instead. I need to press my dealer for pics.

This waiting is killing me....

MoMan, did you opt for the extra CC's? Someone at work asked me if the upgrade made the outside of the engine bigger ... I couldn't even tell him if it was a complete jug replacement or just the liners.

I believe the side cover was an option. I'm not quite sure of what she asked for other than she ordered a $h1t load of chrome goodies!

The T-bird definitely is not nearly as quick as the Rocket. Rolling on the throttle was not nearly as smile evoking. She loves it and thats all that matters.

This is the one that Triumph carried on the demo truck. I rode it and it was fun. Snappy throttle response and quick through the gears. Took a little getting used to after riding the RIII up there because of shifter position but a hoot non the less. It has the 104 CI side case cover as well. I like Phil R's look a lot better. That paint is great and the light package is a lot better looking to me.

Just to be clear on this post, I originally was going to get this in February but started "hearing" that there were not that many left in the US so I took the plunge a little early.

If you originally got the 1600 T-Bird you could opt to get the larger big bore kit (which according to Jamie comes with the 104 side plate) but from what I understand the warranty is not as long as the original warranty that comes with the bike.

If you got the 1700 version from the factory (this year you got the Phantom Red Haze color to choose from for 2010, the 2011 1700 version is, so far, offered only in the Storm set up (dual headlight and in black) I am guessing that I get the 1700 side plate so that is where I am right now. I guess if I want the 104 side cover I'll have to order it.

As for does the engine look bigger...that is a good question...I don't know, from the different pictures I've seen of it the casing appears the same so there must have been some "meat" to work with on the internals if the outside casing is the same.

The 1700cc engine looks exactly like the std one. Only the inner parts, i.e. basically the pistons, liners and cams are changed. And the clutch springs (which came with my big bore "kit") are stiffer. So that leaves only either one of the two external clues: 104 OR 1700 left cover. Best.
