Ozrider (Les) dickey-knee

lucky indeed

Surgery alone is $28,000 and then you've got 5-10 days in the ward before you can go downstairs and have a cigarette .. or go home. All paid by the Government with the taxes we pay them .. as it should be in a civilised country.

:D

He'll be as good as he never was...!!!!

Your friends are the lucky ones mate .. I know a couple of people that bailed on the physio (it's brutal) and ended up with knees as bad or worse than before surgery. Mines still sore a year and half after replacement .. been told it can take a couple of years for the pain to go .. it's full-on carpentry to replace a knee (google it , couple of you-tube clips)

One was my 75-y.o sister-in-law, another an ex-employee now 65, and the third drives a water tanker truck.... all virtually normal within a week or so. Two different surgeons/hospitals. Must be a luck-of-the-draw thing in there somewhere.....

Can't have been 'total knee replacement' mate .. no way if they were " back to normal in a week or so" ... trust me.

Knowing his competitive Kiwi nature i'm sure he'll do his best to beat my 5 weeks and one day record.

Damm - 5 weeks 1 day?????
Izzat from crash and bones breaking date to the 1st ride date?
If so, I be major f*cked! Been 8 weeks for me so far and I still have a cast from left knee down.
WTF! Is this old healing or what?
Good fortune to your mate.

:eek::D:roll::whitstling:

I only had a compartmental knee replacement (1/2 a knee) and it still gives me the gripes 6 years later (the bottom plate is loose, the surgen thinks). Yep you need to see the physio cause thats what gets you back on ya pins aok. As to the youtube clips, they dont do it justice..you really need to see it in the flesh to appricate what goes on during the surgery (and yes I have seen it done in the flesh)
