One should never underestimate the capability of a Wing - in the hands of someone who knows how to ride it.

If you don't believe me . . . . . . .

This video is a good example of why I bought a Cruser rather then a Supersport. I didn't want the "see how fast I can corner" mindset. Oviously didn't slow these two gentelman down. Truefully, having a cruser failed to adjust my mindset. But then I could say the same about cornering in a mortor home.

20mm extra length shocks solved that for me, I really have to be over a loonngg way before I touch down now

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaate,
Your choice of tires should have very little to do with mileage and everything to do with performance! Just sayin'

I sat on my Bruiser last night for the first time since the crash. The new Progressive 444s were mounted. I can get both feet down; with heels IF I really stretch out.
Real excited about riding again - hopefully within a couple months.
I also got the new Daymakers mounted. In the garage, no lights, they look to be way brighter than stock. Re-read previous line.

Ray I lived in Leeds for 12 months when I was 10 or 11 years old .. cobblestone streets , communal toilet at the end of the street, Bramley was a really old part of Leeds. Coming from rural western NSW was a big big change. Was pre-Crocodile Dundee days .. a group of the local kids hated Aussies for some reason. Got into a lot of trouble/fights at school there...hahaha

1olbull, how long ago did your Ride become your Bruiser?:( And what had to be replaced or fixed on the both of you?

I read about custom shocks, struts, wheels and tires all that raise the Rocket road feel part/s to a higher level. My Rocket previous owner lowered struts and put on Kona progressive shocks to lower bike. I'm 6 foot and feet can set flat on pavement. As I am breaking in new tiers and still feeling out the rocket, have yet to scrap feeler pegs. How much hight is added by the 444 to your ride?

This will probably get a few noses outa joint but I gotta say a hard ridden Goldwing will beat a hard ridden Rocket on the Lions road. Don't ask me how I know that I just do.For those that don't know the Lions road is a very narrow dangerous Mountian road on the QLD - NSW border.

How do you know that?

Back in 2011 for about the first 12 months of owning my Roadster I had myself and my ever faithfully pillion Julie convinced that with those big fat tyre's the Rocket would not fall over. It's unbelievable what you can do on a Rocket when you think like that and I still lost ground to the Goldwing. Kept him in sight but lost ground. P.S. They will fall over.

Safety, Performance then Mileage in that order, Always my priorities when choosing my tyres, there is very little performance difference between the Excedra and the Federal 595 but I know I can trust the Federal in the wet and any tyre on my bike has to give good feed back or it wont stay on there, it has to give you the confidence to be able to push the envelope.
As I said the jury is still out ..... we'll see,....... Just sayin'

P.S I loved the Michelin Commander II it felt safe it preformed but gave sh!te mileage so was chucked on the scrap heap

That may well be true Bruce but I know that our Rockets wouldn't scrape on nearly every corner like the camera bike does. They weren't cornering all that hard by the look of them. With the 25mm longer than stock Gazi shocks I had on my Rocket hardly ever scraped .. unless I hit a big lump in the road or was on a really bad off-camber road. And that was two-up most of the time.
