On a ride

I rode all day in the rain yesterday. My gauges are intermittent now. Does anybody know if it's a "feature" I can switch out of? I have gas gauge on the left and temp on the right. I have to swipe the selector switch to the right to get them to show. Then in a few seconds it blanks out to nothing. Just white. I'm only talking about the side displays. Gas and temp. Or whatever you happen to have there. At macdonolds now in mackinaw city. Thanks.

Hiding the gas and other displays on the side of display is a feature you can turn on and off. You should be able to make it show perminently also.

Thanks. I figured it out about 15 minutes after my post. the 1 2 3 thing it has, I'm not even sure what it is. I'm not a big tech guy. but I had it on 1 and I put it on 2 and it stays on now. so that's good.....So I guess this will be my ride thread. I'm in Barron Wisconsin right now. just got to the motel. I got pulled over twice in 15 minutes doing 90 in a 55. ha ha, I cant believe I got away with it. The first guy was really laid back. nicest cop I ever talked to. he said "this is the second time you passed me. I figured I should introduce myself" ha ha. he was unmarked of course. some kind of plain cloths guy. just dress shirt and pants. Rt. 8 in Wisconsin is a super straight two lane. 55 mph. stupid slow if you're trying to get across the country. I showed him my retired Yonkers fire ID and we just talked about 911. Second guy ran all my stuff, but gave me a courtesy. I'm glad to be off the bike. No good pictures yet. going over the Mackinaw bridge was nice, but I couldn't take any pictures. I just have a pic of a nice vacant rest area. They call them waysides. The weather looks bad for the Beartooth pass in Wyoming. cold front coming with some snow over the weekend. just when I was going to be there.....Oh yeah, almost went down yesterday. what a ****ty day. rained all day. rain cover blew off my tailbag and everything got soaked. laptop included. but it dried out and is working. I hit one of those painted interstate number things they put in the road when there's a couple of different interstates come together. slick as snot when they're wet. and it was pouring. it caught traction and stood back up luckily. needed new drawers though. this kind of ****. why don't they use sand paint at least.

I should be around Bismarck ND tomorrow night.

Following as promised. Big touring distances are challenging. I could go on for ever about severe weather and mechanical difficulties but it’s your thread.
BTW I would not choose my TFC for such an adventure. I will choose a much more capable machine with water tight storage and front end fairings and lowers. I guess I’m just a bit soft.
