Stock Aluminium:
Front / Rear
13lbs, 5.9 kilos 24lbs, 10.91 Kilos

BST CF Rims:
Front / Rear
7 lbs, 3.18 kilos 14.5lbs, 6.7 kilos

We are talking some serious weight, which generally is multiplied by x4 (though more the further benefit as it moves outward).

-14.5 lbs x4 = 58 lbs less weight the bike has to deal with to accellerate, stop, and spin.

Also, we'll see some more weight savings with a thinner tire carcass (tires usually weigh more than the rims they are on) so look for at least another +/- 5 lbs of rubber (comparing stock tires mounted vs. BST with tires mounted).

Check those numbers and we're at 78lbs (though really it should be higher given the location of the last few pounds.

Still waiting on my tires and some other issues though...

Can't wait to hear how lighter the bike FEELS when in the quick direction changes. I have heard others say the BST's make the bike feel 100 lbs. lighter!
Would love to build a "bare neccesities" R3 and see what I could make her do. I know when I first move from my Sprint to the R3 and make those first quick direction changes, even just changing lanes etc. I always find myself saying "come on baby, go over there"!
Can't wait to hear your report.

Just hit the old scale, allowing for it being about 2% doctor's scales, I plus-ed it up to 22 lbs with the bigger Pirelli Diablo 150/70-18 "rear tire" and 32 lbs with the 240 Diablo (with differential star).

I can't wait-just want to get two coats of Zaino polish on them to protect them before install...
