When removing the O2 sensor by disconnecting it from the ECU in order to stop the potential auto correction of decel popping, i found an old post that mentioned fitting a O2 eliminator plug back on the ECU connector. A dynojet part i think.
Is that still the current advice - or is it now consider OK to leave the O2 sensor plug on the ECU 'empty'?
....O2 sensor is being removed inconjunction with 'unchecking' in Tuneboy
I have tried dynojet O2 eliminator (thanks Sam) & tuneboy unchecked both worked fine.
Remove redundant O2 sensor & fit bung, sensor does impede exhaust flow gas slightly.
Thanks - yes, I started at the sensor and replaced it with the bung that comes with the jardines kit and unchecked it in tuneboy. Doug and Wayne advised that I also disconnect from the ECU, which I did. I saw other posts where an 'O2 eliminator' was plugged back into the ECU.....looks like a white cap. I'm starting to think this is only necessary when you use a PClll.
Yeah your right it is supposed to be heated, but snce I cannot ever conceive of a time when I'd need it working again, I thought stuff it! don't give a dam if it's sat there dead... all I need is the bung. Actually , since I've just had new headers made, I don't even know if it's been junked now? just reminded me! ( bike is having work done so I'll have to phone up & ask!)
