ok, I have to ask as I don't have the shop book with me. Got an aux power outlet and understand that it goes on the left side and should plug in to the cable with the blue tape....if this is wrong I'm really screwed up....but assuming I'm correct....on the right side, after removing the side panel, what is the cable hanging down? Looks like it's a slide in connection. for the ecu?

ok, 29 views and no one has a guess? No one has a shop manual handy and can pass on the info. Maybe I should have hidden a bike related question in a picture, video, political statement or something of that nature?

the posted question came up as I was taking the side panels off the r3 and some hd riding friends asked about the reference cable. As I don't have the manual with me, I said, I'll just post it to the site with informed r3 owners and get an answer asap. My Bad.

The cable that you are referencing is not pointed out explicitly in the manual. The ecm has three cables connected to it and is on that side. The cable that the diagnostic tool plugs into is under the seat. If I had the colors of the wires in front of me, I could read the schematic and let you know.

Billy, dare I ask if you should not have typed "when it comes to things like that" and just left it there?
