best way to check voltage\
now that u have the info on meter place red probe to battery positive and black probe to battery negative
needle should sweep to about 12 volts. if this is correct then with ign on put black probe to battery negative and red probe to to each side of fuses. if one side reads 12+ and the other side dont then that fuse is blown.
keep in mind u will have extra fuses that will not move the meter.
u might try the accessory position if it has one?
 
So is multimeter still set at 8oclock 12 on left side of pic, or now right side that has BATT? Thanks

u should check bat volts to make sure your meter works.
 
The batt side is for checking small batts like torch or batteries from your tv remote.
 
What’s the voltage across your battery. It should peg at 12v but you might try putting it at the 60v setting.
 
check your adapter with the ohms setting upper left`X1k setting. touch probes together the needle will go probably all the way to the right. any way the same will happen when u touch the correct contacts on the adapter.

i have a tool that will check that out pdq.
 
Just as you said needle moved to the right with probes together, and adapter. Still doesn't help since bike socket has no power.
