Newbish Tire Questions

Hi Phil can you help me with this post? I also want to turn easier at low speeds and have better flicking with my 2013 rockTouring. I was even going to try 130-90-16 reinforced for right load and match the rear with same overall diameter 180-65-16 what do you think?

Mixing brands is not a problem, its mixing radials with bias ply tires that could land you in hot water.

There is no need to adjust the ABS, either, as the 0.47 inch taller Bridgestone actually corrects the approximately 7% speedo deviation built in at the factory to near 0%, at least it does so on pre '09 models. The taller tire also imprves turn-in, tracking and overall handling, IMO.

In fact, if you drop your front tire size down to a 140 it won't compromise your ABS and your machine will feel and handle as though it's 200 pounds lighter enabling handling (flickability) that is mond-boggling!

Hey there.. you mentioned lowering the forks 10 mm and handling is great. Does that mean the back stays same and front is tilted 10mm? Are the tires same size? I'm wondering because I see my oem set-up is like that now being 5% lower in the front. So why is it that many motos have a larger front wheel & tire than rear and handle well? I'm confused.

This is a very old thread.
Don't do this.
