NEW TPS and error code

Hi guys,

Looking for some help with TPS, arnt most of us.... Just had a new one fitted at the shop, bike was reving high sometimes and then others stalling so suspected TPS... Changed under warranty,,,

Rode bike hame about 40 miles no probs... Then after going to visit a mate, on leaving his pad, bike does not want to tick over only some of the time. Got it home and check the TPS on Tuneecu throttle closed position, was reading 0.73, this should be 0.6 right? I follow the excellent write up about how to set it up and get all the reading spot on.

Take the bike out for a ride, blow me down and i'll eat a rubber rat, the fookers still doing it. Check again and there is a fault code.

PO122 Throttle Position switch ( going to ground or open circuit). Anybody shed any light on this, may have been there when i first set it may have not really looked at the faults code bit.

Any ideas would be very welcome..

also, try going through the Adjust ISCV process on the Tests page. Your first reading should be .6 and the second reading should be .72. After the process completes, go back to the Diagnostics page and the tps reading will end up around .65.

Don't over torque the star headed (T head)retaining bolt (when setting the the TPS to .6v base) & some recommend adding a plastic washer here.

Thank you for your help guys, fingers crossed the bike seems to be running ok at the minute. Dam hope i aint jinxed it now. Below is all that has gone wrong over the last couple of years..

Paint inside tank filler, peeled off into fuel. (No idea why it would be painted in there , no other rocket I've owned had been)
Top yoke
Bottom yoke
Fork legs, (swapped 2 times)
Throttle cable snapped
Water leak from overflow tank
Petrol leak from who knows where??
Oil leak from head gasket
New diff
New total wireing loom
Main connector under tank changed 2x
New ignition switch, tank and seat locks
New gear box and assosiated parts x100 ( This went on me in March 2010 and I was told from the shop i got the bike from, that they could not do the work until October 2010, got it done at another dealer still took 3 months)
New stepper motor
New TPS
New front wheel bearings

All in all the bike has been off the road about 6 months with warranty issues...

They fixed mine under warranty too,
then out of warranty, but I ain't had the problems you've had.
Dang, I hope she's finally right now,
you deserve it.

Almost as bad as my mate Joe's Classic... in the shop every 5k miles ( did nr 30k miles) he traded it for a Tbird.. Just couldn't relax & enjoy it anymore.
