How do I tell if its the right height for me? The one I have came on the bike when I bought it. It feels like its dumping a lot of air onto my face/helmet. My wife is getting a lot of air on her face, to the point it almost sucked her glasses off. Any suggestions?

Windshield hight is generally a matter of preference. Some people don't mind looking through them, while others (like me) prefer to look over the top of the shield. If your shield is from triumph, you can get a replacement screen that fastens onto the existing mount. Clearview makes excellent shields and I'm planning on ordering / mounting one as soon as my triumph shield arrives - hopefully tomorrow. I want to test out the factory shield before I fork out money for a Clearview brand, in order to figure out how high / wde I want to go. I've called Clearview in the past to help me figure out the hight - just an idea.

FYI... Clearview shields can be ordered wth a recurve design that greatly helps to reduce the turbulence you're experiencing. One of the first, if not the first, with this design. Had these shields on my last two bikes and can't say anything but positive things about them...as if ya couldn't tell. And they make them for our Rockets.:)

Remove it and go naked as nature intended.

I know what you mean. I did a 120 mile ride yesterday, cruising at 70/80 mph. This morning I'm sore like hell from the wind beating me up. BUT, I don't want to go to the "road sofa" look either. Contemplating some kind of clip on, for trips?

Those Clearview shields are a great deal compared to the Triumph screen. I have a crack in my screen and though I was going to have to shell out for a new one from Triumph.

I have found the problem with any windshield on the rocket is air coming from below. They always want to cut the windshield here in case your running the Triumph running lights.

I made my own lowers following the Triumph design and then extended them up to fill that area.

These take care of about 80% of the wind that wants to blow up over the front of the tank and hit you on the sides of your head.

Clearview recommends that when sitting normally and on a flat surface you should be able to look over the shield and see the road 50 ft in front of the bike.

The Clearview I got for my Rocket was much wider, especially at the bottom, than the stock shield. In combination with the Triumph lowers it did a pretty good job at reducing the turbulence.

I've been thinking about the Clearview as well as I did have one on my last bike and like everyone has said, it was great! I believe with the Clearview you can order the shield without the driving light cutouts, so that would solve one problem at least.

Has anyone tried the exact same shield size with and without the recurve? I was testing the airflow on my last long ride (bored) and found that with the Triumph shield at its highest adjustment the flow over the shield was hitting me just about at the eyeball level. If the recurve does as advertised and throws the flow about 2" higher, I would be fine with the stock height (even though that is about 3-4" below eyeline.

I bought my 07 classic with windshield and drove 900 miles. that windshield beat up on me. i am 6 feet tall i had a real tall shield put it on and it worked great. seams like it is slowing me down around 120 mph. the top of mine sets at eye level so you can either set tall and see over top or relax and look through.
will sale triumph windshield for 250 dollars.
