Polaris, welcome aboard I'm sure you will find the R3 a great ride and the site a great ride.

Hey Polaris, I too have an '05 and have never had idle problems (just as Pianoman stated). I would not go looking for issues until they come your way. Many captains state problems (shifter spring failure, idle issues, etc.) and yet other captains with the same ventage experience no problems. Sit tight, enjoy until the matters come your way.

See ya. Welcome aboard.

Welcome Polaris...to the forum. Post often and wipe that grin off your face. It's a tell-tale sign that you're having too much fun on the Rocket III :D

As for performance tips: What mods do you have in place? The extent to which some folks have gone is almost beyond imaginable; and the reasonable commoner's wallet.

A few basics might include, a shelving of the cat-box, air filter and exhaust enhancements, and a TuneBoy. Eliminating the secondaries, one way or another, is a significant boost, whether before or after the cat box replacement/gutting is one approach.

But if you're looking for best mileage, keep the FGB (Britman's Fat Bottom Girl) stock.

thanks for the help... all i know that is non stock is the exhaust. It does not have the left side pipe, only 2 on the right. As far as anything else... I do not know yet. I am looking to do whatever it takes for this baby to run like a champ. As far as non performance stuff.... any good place to get floor boards?

this weekend

Greetings to all,
Should be cracking the throttle on a new 08 R3 on Sat. Was wondering why KBB or NADA has retail value for 2 yrs old bike so low, Is it normal for high depreciation on Triumphs regardless of mileage.??? had a lock on an 06 classic for 14000, seemed high for an 06.....Thanks...

I also have an 05 and never had an idle problem...
But, a starting problem, if I recall correctly :D

What happened to the 07 Classic for 12K. 14k would be on the high side 6 months ago. I'm not so sure nowadays.

Welcome to the forum Captain Polaris; oh I already said welcome. And Captain borok9off, welcome to the forum to you as well.
