Does anyone out there know of someone making after market wheels for the R3T or have a good rear wheel for sale? My rear wheel looks horrible and will not completely shine up. thanks
Powder coat them! done mine in gloss black and haven't regretted it for a minute. The original finish is bare alloy and, no matter how much time you spend polishing, will never keep it's look.
Glare Polish followed by a high content carnauba wax product. I understand Honda is the only source for the same product other than the Glare.com manufacturer. Honda Glare is not a big savings. A layer of carnauba wax, IMHO, adds an additional layer of premium stain protection.

They get pitted and corroded like any aluminium, but there are ways to fix it. It does require some elbow grease though if you want to keep that polished aluminium look.
I tried polishing it by hand with some Autosol and it worked fine, but it was a temporary success and it was a huge pain just getting at the wheel, especially on the right side. The new plan is some Flitz polishing balls, a fast cordless drill and the Flitz polish, followed by some wax. That should make them quite presentable with just a few polishing sessions a year. They also have an aluminium pre-cleaning product to take the worst corrosion and dirt off.
Being in Europe, though, the cost would add up fast with shipping and the like.
Powdercoating would work fine too, but I for one have a hard time finding a color that would work. "Chrome" powdercoat looks like cheap silver paint, and black just won't work for my Touring - it needs the cruiser bling to look right.
