New Ram Mount

Looks nice, but I just open carry mine on my belt when I ride, or don't ride, whatever the case may be.

This is one area where you need to know your laws. I can OC whenever I want, but as soon as I get into a car, I have to have a concealed pistol license. Most of us who ride and open carry consider being on a bike the same as in a vehicle as far as the law goes, so even though we are open carrying, we still have a CPL to cover ourselves while riding.

Concealed carry is advisable in the majority of situations regardless of the law as open carry typically just draws unwanted/unwarranted attention intended or not. Of course a ccw permit facilitates that.

The post was a bit tongue in cheek, I'd likely not mount one of my handguns on my handlebars. Too many things could go wrong.

But, carrying on your body also creates a problem. There are few places on your body that you'd want to absorb a fall onto a pound of steel. Especially dangerous of course in small of the back carry. A simple slide down the road could easily turn into a broken back. On sport touring bikes I used to carry in a tank bag. Easy access to a concealed weapon without the associated risk of landing on the **** thing. The R3T does not with its goofy tank mount instrument cluster does not lend itself to using a tank bag. Probably could use a small magnetic bag, but I haven't looked for one.

As to methods of carry, here we are allowed to carry concealed without a permit. I keep one current for out of state travel.

I believe that is a regional thing. Here on the eastside of Washington, I have been open carrying for at least 8 years now, and have never had a "bad" encounter. The police understand the laws here and pretty much ignore you, most people, I believe, don't even notice a gun on your hip. They are ingrained into looking at people from the chest up. Those that do notice usually say nothing, or are supportative.

But like I said, that could be a regional thing.

I would hate to slide down the road on my pistol!

Hand tooled leather scabbard with barely legal 12 guage, not tongue in cheek with marine grade all weather finish. A small balloon over the end of the barrel serves as a rain condom.
