I dont know mate i have never had my bike faster than 200kph
but i know it definatly workes in every other way .
guess i need to find a nice stretch of road to test her out. What speed wher they limited to from factory?
OOOOhhh.... I used to know that one .... I think it was 134mph. I'm too lazy to convert that to kph. I know the speedo is off and I have not corrected mine yet, I've pegged it just past the 150 mark with everything mounted (saddle bags, extra tall C.B. windscreen) so I know the dis-abler feature is working on it. She used to fall flat right on que before the GiPro, and couldn't quite pull past 140 with the Pro and before the PCIII, TOR's and triples.
The extra drag from the windscreen and stuff held her back some without the extra "Umph" from the tuning and parts. I have no idea what the top end is with her stripped down, but I'm guessing it would be RPM limited to whatever that would be.
Mine is an 06 classic and would shut down electronicly when I would hit 125 or so on the un corrected speedo. I no longer have this problem sense I have installed the TB.
I have now removed the speed limiter and corrected the speedo and could not be happier.
From what I understand, the PCV is just a better version of the PCIII that will allow it to make corrections in fuel and timing automaticly just like our cars do today. If it senses that the engine is too lean it will correct it and same for a too fat condition. I understand that it has better diagnostics also. But the question for me is, Can you remove the speed limiter and correct the speedo? I know that we can remove the timing retard in the first 3 gears with the GIPRO and you can purchase a speedo healer for that. But as we all know, the TB does it all. I still have my GIPRO installed but it is only my gear indicator now which I needed anyway to keep me from looking for the 6th gear we don't have. lol
T you were so happy with it after you had them hook the PCIII back up and piggy back the dyno tune with it alongside the TuneBoy, do you really want to mess with "perfection"?
I would not touch it for anything. It scares me sometimes now as it is. I was just asking the question for the benifet of the new guys. If I had to do it over again, I would have to go with the TB on MY bike because the GIPRO would not remove the top end limiter. I was going to purchase a factory CPU out of a standard and then try it with the GIPRO and PCIII however given the cost of the CPU, I put a little more $$ with it and I had a TB that allowed me to do everything.
If I had a stock bike today and had to do it over again. I would install an aftermarket exhaust, not just mufflers. You have to open the header to let it breath. I would install the triple filters and remove the secondary throttle plates. I would install a PCV and a GIPRO and take it to the dyno to have it dialed in. I would bet that you would see somewhere around 145 hp and 150 trq at the rear wheel. I currently have 144 hp and 151 trq.
The way I understand it is to increase these figures up over 200, you have to do head and cam work of turbo or supercharge it.
Like I said, Hell sometimes it scares me now as it is. I can honestly say that sense I have install the CT, My Rocket is the most violent bike I have ever riding. MY small block Boss Hoss with 385 hp and the 100 hp shot of juice to boot was smooth as all get out. I could roll into the throttle and just light up the tire all the way up to about 75 or 80 mph before the rear tire would start hooking up. So it was smooth. The Rockeet is totally different. You have to be a better rider to do this on the Rock. If I just nail it in 1st, I have to worry about the front end coming over on me. And when I hit 2nd, it slams your eyes back into your head and you better have a good hold on the handle bars because I have had it yank my left hand off the handlebars and that wasn't a good feeling either trying to reach back up and get my hand back on it. It had me pinned back with the throttle wide open and me trying to get my left hand back on the handle bars. Not cool.
So you are right, why mess with perfection.
Isn't is supposed to do everything itself via the O2 sensor? They made it sound like you just hook it up and ride ... then it does all it's own adjustments for optimum power and A/F mixture. Sounded good, I'm dyin' to hear how it does in the real world. What have you heard about it?
You have to set the A/F ratios. Basically I should be able to switch intake, exhaust, etc and not have to worry about swapping tunes or more dyno tunes.
So now that I have a TB and a PCIII and dialed in on the dyno and the bike is running great, that is the last time I got to ride, July of last yr. I have yet to plug in the bike to my computer and upload the tune back into TB. Do you think I really need to?
Is the PCV going to be able to remove the speed limitier and remove the timing retard that we have built into our bikes?
PCV will do the same as the PCIII, but with the autotune it hooks to a wideband O2 to give real time adjustments to A/F ratio.
If your bike is running good, I wouldn't worry about marrying the tune with TB. I would save the PCIII tune on your computer in case the PCIII module takes a dump.
Just buy a GIpro atre if u want to remove the retarded timing alot cheaper than a pcv and i think it also removes the speedlimiter and u also get a gear position indicator
