While at Rolling Thunder this last May, I met a vender from Evansville, In, Old Jim Customs. Of course they were moving Harley products but we chatted about the Rocket and the oil tank. They have many designs they are able to use and they said they could easily make something. So, back home and I email a drawing of the shape, arc and design I would like, they sent back a plastic sample to check. A suggestion or 2 and out came the new plate. Black Powder coated aluminum with laser etched designs. I went with no holes and we used 3m trim tape. The coating is a wrinkle type, not glossy smooth. They used a military type number design, I like the star . The only thing I had to do was shape the insert to form the arc, the tank is not flat and I rolled the insert over a bat until it fit the chrome piece I removed. This is for my 05 which has the large removable chrome insert. Total was $56.
