FYI guys, I looked everywhere for reasonably priced PCIII's and was about to give up when I ran across MotoMummy.com. They advertised them with a 20% off price of $260 w/free shipping. I specified that I did not want the new EX california model due to the non adjustable MAP. They assured me that it would be the "Race" version. Now I have yet to recieve it but I'm told "so far" that there is no problem with me getting what I asked for. They also pre-program them prior to shipping with whatever DynoJet tune you want for free. I had actually purchased two others from vendors on ebay and was immediatly sent a refund with an appology saying that they did not have one in stock and that they could not honor the price if they had to order it. A-HOLES! I still have a bit of a doubt that I'll actually get one for $260 after dealing with those other guys but I'll let you know if and when I have it in my hot little hands. I've seen that MotoMummy has gotten some bad press on the internet but they assure me that it was all a misunderstanding from some counterfit discount code. We will soon see.

Check to see if Pig9r is still renting his PCIII. The full Tuneboy will be more costly but in my book it's well worth it. The Tuneboy package has more flexibility than the PC ever thought of providing though I imagine they wish it were possible. Primarily in that you can change tunes at will and the attributes for change are huge. With Tuneboy you can get a key, for just half the price of the full compliment price, to upload a preferred tune and get a lot more bang for your buck; if you're near anyone that will share their connection cable (the other half).

I am still renting it for dyno tunes, but the classified ad here has been removed. You need to get Tuneboy though. Renting the PCIII is for dyno tuning then you import the PCIII map into Tuneboy.

But.. doesn't the PCIII only add/subtract to the map stored in the ECU? How can you get your bike dyno tuned with a PCIII and then import those values into TuneBoy. The PCIII tune only has + or - values based on the map in the ECU, it doesn't actually contain a complete fuel map.

For example.. If your ECU calls for a fuel value of say.. 15 at a certain point, then you dyno tune and make an adjustment of +3 at that point. The PCIII only stores the +3 part..

Do you take the stock TuneBoy fuel map and then add the values from your PC-III on top?

I'm just curious. I don't have TuneBoy, but I do have a PCIII

The fuel map is stored in the PCIII and it intercepts and changes the signal from the ECU to the fuel injectors. There is no change to the map loaded into the ECU.

So you load a "full power" map into the ECU via Tuneboy, load a zero map into the PCIII, then dyno tune the bike on a dynojet dyno via PCIII, then remove the PCIII, download the PCIII map to your computer, then import the PCIII map into the Tuneboy map you had loaded into the ECU, then load that tune into the ECU. Then there is no need for the PCIII on the bike. And you got a dyno tune that took 1 hour instead of 8+ hours.

Recieved and installed the PCIII from motomummy.com today. It WAS loaded with the exact tune I asked for and arrived well packed. It took a while to get it since they had to order it, but for $260 and free shipping I'm not complaining. Did the plate removal, triple filter mod and resistor mod at the same time ... can't say what did the most to make the huge increase in power, but WOW ... WHO CARES! What a Rocket!
