Darkside: Need a quick "How to do it" thread

How bout a quick How To Do It Thread?
*Is it cut and dry on taking off the wheel? Any issues there that we may come accross?

*Also what about getting the tire mounted? I have heard tire stores dont normally want to mount car tires on a MC rim.

*What type of machine can mount the tires? Can you use a MC tire machine or do you need to use car tire machine? Or do you have to mount it by hand?

All good questions I think.

Thanks

Certainly good questions, RCR.

Removing the rear wheel from the bike is very simple. You do need to be mindful of lifting the rear high enough for the tire to roll out. Very easy to put back on, too.

I had a local, independent car tire shop mount my Riken Raptor. They advertised that they mounted m/c tires as well and didn't flinch at my darkside tire. $10 and it was on. :)

From the many threads on this subject, I've come to the conclusion that it is much harder to remove the old tire than it is to get the new one on there. Several do-it-yourselfers have resorted to cutting the bead cable with a saw to get the tire off.
