Nearly A Captain - Some Questions...

Mark, yes the Gi pro opens the secondaries when you select a gear. Looks like 100% to me but someone else will have to varify that.
As far as the speed limiter, it says it gets rid of it but I can't say for sure as I don't have gps to accuratly check mph.

Like I said I am not totally sure but if the gig pro makes it think its in a different gear and the tune in that gear does not open the secondaries to 100% till after 4000 rpm wouldn't the gigpro mimic the same function NM ? I was also thinking if the say 4th gear actually has now speed limiter wouldn't you still be limited by the rpm/rev limiter? I noticed this on my bike before I got tune boy I had a classic which was set to 125mph max and I good do more in 4th then 5th but I still pegged the rev limiter at about 140 ( on the standard tune boy tunes is 6300)if memory serves me right. Like I said Mark get several opinions don't just trust me NM knows me and he will tell you I am a honest guy but I can still make mistakes so ask some other captains also! Its easy to check the theroy just put her in furth and run her up and find the rev limiter and see how fast your going it does not matter if your speedo is off we canalways calculate the speed by adding the 6%-7% its off to it. But make sure you set up is safe running them speeds is not the safest action nor legal so go where there are no cops.

Scott, I left the airbox crap off and turned the ignition on, not rinning, when I put her in gear the secondaries fliped open in 1-2-3-4-5 .
I just wanted to verify it for myself before replacing the airbox.
Yes the rev limiter is not affected, so , rpm's still limit speed.
Mark, as Warp stated if you wind her up make sure everythin is tip-top. At those speeds you run out of road quick too.

NM I was wrong on someof the tunes they are open 100% in 4th and 5th there were so many I got mixed up the german and french tunes were more muzzled I found a after market exhaust on that had them opem till 1500 rpm then they closed fpor a while and then opend back up. So if you have the right tune then yess they are open.LikeNM said but still the rev limit is unchanged this might not matter if you don't want over 6300 rpms. I know when I had my classic tune in mine it was muzzled but ran just great with the standard tune. I wonder if you guys will be able to run the Roadster tune ans the dyno stuff tune boy has been doing on Matty's beast is a great improvement. Of Course youneed tune boy for that but if a normal rocket is say in the 130's it would be worth the money to gain almost 20 hp just from the tune. Me well I love the blower and we shall see what the Carpenter work Does with the blower! I am suspecting they will work great together!!!

Oh and Mark I don't know how your wife is but typically you will get your ears boxed in or your kidneys hit if you have to much fun while she is on the back. Just a warning as mine did not see any humor in me hitting the throttle hard even after I got a back rest!!!!! oh and it seems the regular rokets the limit is at 218 kph is 135.4589 and then your 6 to 7 % off if the gigpro does not change that. so 145 is what you would read on the speedo and your actually doing 135.5 that using 7% which is what I got with my zumo550

All being said i do like my gi pro.
If you want a good kick for cheap you can remove the secondaries.
It's free and responds like a scalded cat.

No, all you do is remove the secondary butterflys.
I did a 12 minut tune afterwards but it isn't necessary.
Throttle responce is great afterwards.
It's the same as having them 100% open.

NM is right the gigpro is cheap compared to the Tuneboy witch will end up bieng either 400.00 or 500.00 dollars. it depend on what you want and your skills on the maintenance if you don't have tune boy you will in the end pay the price of the gigpro and the price of tune boy + just to have the the dealer diagnos it. Many people on this site will talk and some coplain about the several trips they mad eto the dealer whether paid or not to have them say we can't duplicate what your saying is happening yet later to be right only they can tell you what that amounts to in dollars and time Not I as other then the upgrade kit on my tranny the last time a dealer touched my 06 was in 07 for a TPS and what do you know it was warranteed but took a week for them to sort it out. then I bought tune boy and paid attention to people on the .com and ,net site now when I goe to dealers its for fun maybe some triumph gear or bling or just to look at new bikes!!!! 43,000 hard thrashing miles and its still my own way!!!!!!!!!!

Just to clarify, I was talking about gi pro as a performance mod not a diagnostic tool.
Ya I know NM and I was jus added the other advantages that tuneboy has along with the performance aspect. One of the performance things is also timing the gigpro only fulls the bike into following pre programed timming which in the case of my bike I have modified some of my timing in upper rpm bands. to improve power. Just as tune boy can make A/F changes, just wait maybe it will end up being the real difference between the roadster and the rest of the rockets is the tune and with the tune boy you might be able to load a roadster tune into the standard and classic models. Either way it will boil down to what Mark wants in performance . Oh and if he is like me what she who controls all says.
