Nasty Rattle in Speedo

Hey,

I'm wondering if anyone has taken apart the housing of the speedo before. Mine rattles from time to time and constantly rattles at cruising speeds. I thought it might settle out over time but it seems to be getting worse.

The tach is fine and so is my fuel gauge. Just that friggen speedo rattles like crazy. If I grab the outer ring/face while it's buzzing, I can hold it tight and prevent it from rattling. I think it might be the plastic window shaking around inside the ring.

Part of me thinks that opening it up might be tough in order to prevent people messing with the odometer. If I can get it open, I might be able to get some silicone or a gasket in there to tighten it up.

The other thought I had is just replacing it, but how can I do that with the odometer in there?

Any ideas or similar experiences?

Pull the back off it and the lower chrome piece (come out after you remove the screw in the back). look at the speedo mounting bolts mine were loose.
