Hi guys had some spare time and spoke to Richard this morning, unfortunately he has been unable to check out accommodation, so I did a bit of ring around and as I feared there is not a lot around Nabiac there is a Caravan Park very close but all cabins/units are closed for renovations over Easter ?? weird time of year if you ask me.
Anyway I rang the other nearest parks and one just has a answer machine while another was very helpful but limited space so we would need to act fast unless you are planning to tent it.

So the big question is how many of us are definitely going and are you willing to share cabins etc there are some options as follows 6 person cabin with 1 queen and 2 sets of bunks $235 (*3 units available) then there is 4 person 1 queen with a set of bunks but with external en-suite $135 (*3 units available) powered camp sites $55 and unpowered $40 I think she was quite receptive to us as mature well behaved motorcyclists.
There is a camp kitchen and several Bar-B-Qs around the place but I stress we need to get our act together before they are booked out
* I rang at 12 midday today 9/01/2013
Oh and its only about 15 min from Nabiac along side the river

Have Rocket.......will swag.

Although if the weather looks like being ****, I will throw the tow bar on the Rocket, and bring the trailer along with all the camping gear in it.

Haven't decided whether we will be towing camper or just take a tent but we will be camping

If everyone is camping we could possibly go the park with no cabins as it is much cheaper at only $25 but while it has toilet and shower facilities it does not have a camp kitchen or Bar-B-Q areas but is an easy walk to pub about 1 km and there is a community bus service

I also think we'd be better staying somewhere with decent accommodation and have a ride to the museum. Close to the coast sounds good, except of course it is Easter and could be tight. Anyone know the area?

Forester is the nearest seaside town and the van park I was talking about with cabins is about half way there not mention there is a longer way round from there to the museum also it take a fair while to see all the exhibits.
Forester accommodation prices will be substantially higher of there is any left even at this park that I previously mentioned they are filling fast and they are on the edge of the river that leads to Forester

The van park with cabins is quite decent in that they have a decent attitude towards a group of bike riders and yes Easter is a problem if you guys want to look elsewhere I really don't care but you are running out of time which why I thought I had better do something about it
