That older Concours was a good motor - the model sold well for like 20 years without change.
It was bulletproof and handled well.

I agree that it was a good engine, and generally reliable. I also agree that they handled well as these ST style bikes go. Kawasaki replaced the model because it was genuinely long in the tooth. It was time for an upgrade. The current Concourse is a real dandy. They really give you a lot of bang for the buck.

With any bike in this age range you'll find some that have been well cared for and others that have been ridden hard and put away wet. You really need to look at the specific bike and make the decision based on those
