Today my big triple has undergone my first modification- heavy and ugly cat box has been replaced with cat delete- oh yes!
Bearing in mind my former bike (S83 Intruder with empty Jardine- left and Screaming Eagle- right pipes) I decided to stick to stock mufflers. The guys at the workshop did have a little problem with a small fumes leak but they managed to fix it - as usual I was present during whole process to chit-chat with them bout' the bikes. It took approximately 50 minutes to complete cat-box rip and manifold upgrade installation.
First firing up was without any "wow"- bike seemed to be a little louder. However, this impression changed when I came towards the back of the bike with pipes aimed at me- all of the richness and phatness of three pistons pumping hit me straight in da face- oh yeah! Sound is roary, nasty, yet not excessively loud. Despite severe rain I've made 60 miles trip today to fulfill my satisfaction with unleashed sound. Bike sounds great now- especially in 2000-3000 rpm range and also makes nice afterfiring when decelerating- just like WRC rally car. The most important- people entrapped in cars tend to hear me coming and shove over from the fast lane. When I finally get bored I'm going to debaffle stock pipes.
