Ride
2014 R3R / 2017 R3T
Well today my long awaited dream came true...I was able to take my R3R out for my first ride since I picked it up last October. The roads are still a little dirty so I was cautious with the throttle. I only put 17km on her this go and all I can say is man, I'm glad I bought a Rocket. As long as our weather holds out ill be riding daily by next week...can't wait.
As this is my first time ever riding a R3R I have one question. The bike ran flawlessly and I am paying close attention to the sounds she makes so I will be able to tell if something goes amiss some time down the road.

Shifting, the bike shifts smoothly but I find that it has a definite positive sound when you shift up or down, not quiet but not excessively loud either, I'm assuming that is normal. I've watched a few videos of people riding their R3R and you can definitely hear the shift....I guess this is a normal sound.

I realize that this is a subjective post as it all depends on what I'm hearing. Thanks....can't wait till my next ride.

Lucky bugg..... All I can do is drool as I wait for the snow to gooooo awayyyyyy! :(
Sorry man...I saw you guys on the news tonight, that sucks but I know all too well what that feels like. It's amazing that Alberta is getting better weather than southern Ontario this time of year but I'll take it any-day.

We are supposed to stay on the + side of zero for the next two weeks which means afternoon rides. We are still freezing at night so no rides in the morning, black ice sucks.
All the best and I hope you folks melt soon.

Black ice , white ice ... f#ckn any colour ice sucks if it's on top of bitumen and you are on a bike . Great to hear you've been able to go for a ride after waiting so long, good onya.

Just finished searching trany topics on the forum. I have to say this is a great place. When you hear other riders use terms like clunk, loud, hard time finding neutral ( which happened to me once so far) whining noise......anyway, all those things I heard and felt on my first ride....I'm a lucky guy....I have a normal Rocket.

Thanks

The motors I've found to be a little noisy when cold ,the clunk when she goes into first is something you learn to live with ,the twisting of the throttle for me that's the part I enjoy the most
