My baby is sick, won't start!!

Something like bluey green I suppose, but it just started happening recently, only after a drive and then park up, the hose starts leaking a bit, but not too much. I hope it doesn't do this every time, otherwise I'll have no coolant left.

What u reckon

The coolant overflow bottle actually has a 'Min' mark on it, when the bike is cold it should not be much higher or lower than this mark the coolant if kept at that level should not be coming out of the tube under bike

I guess it could be indicative of something more serious (eg head gasket, cooling fan not working) so if it keeps happening over a period of time you should get it checked out. But most likely it's just overflow, which will stop eventually - it has to if all is well. Just make sure you have some (but not too much) coolant in the overflow bottle when the engine's cool.

Your radiator cap may be shot. I would get a new one and see if that works.

I thought the same thing, but after trying to charge the battery from my neighbours R6, which didn't seem to work, I was left with little choice, and voila, it sprung to life. I let the car run for 45 mins while connected to really give a good charge so only time will tell how long the battery will last after this.

If it doesn't hold a charge for very long, then a new battery will be in order. But I'm glad it's just the battery, and nothing else more technical.

Hi everyone. The battery seems to be holding a charge very well and is starting 1st time every time. Also, as dumb as it sounds, I located the problem with the leaking coolant. The most obvious place, the radiator cap. It was slightly open from the last time I tampered with it. I didn't push and twist the cap fully enough, so now I know. Oh well, it's a learning experience with these bikes for me, Very different to my previous Kawasaki Ninja 250r.

Thanks for all your help, it was much appreciated.

P.S Take back what I said about the Yuasa, it's in my good book now, but for how long.

Cheers.

Get yourself a Battery tender and don't mess with the radiator cap..your just creating problems for yourself

You're not wrong about, I have a tendency to fiddle, but will refrain from now on. Lesson learnt and a battery tender is in order. Cheers.
