My baby is sick, won't start!!

Hook some jumper cables up to it.
Make sure you have good clean connections, that they're tight, then hook the cables up.
IF it doesn't start then, something else is wrong,
but lets do the quick, easy, cheap stuff first to eliminate the possibility.
If it is the battery, go to the harley shop and get one.
About $100 bucks but at least you can ride then.
 
Definitely battery and the fact that you heard a click would indicate that the relay is still working, for my money and lets face relays are not as expensive as a towtruck I'd replace it cos the from what you have said you are probally damaged the contacts and it is going to have extra resisistance in it which will probaly come back and haunt you if you don't
You can always keep the old relay as a back up
 
I'm pretty sure the battery is screwed. Here in Brazil it looks like my only option will be to get another OEM Yuasa YTX20l-b

I'd like to ask if the alternator would come into the equation in this situation, but I guess the alternator is for when the bike is running.
This difficult starting thing and now dead, started back in December after sitting for many months doing nothing. It was always difficult to start from this point, didn't have trouble before. So I guess the battery has been going downhill from there. Do batteries die like this??

With a new battery, do I need to keep it on a charger or can I just start the bike everyday and let it run for a minute or 2 to keep it at it's best?

Like many, I'm happily anal about these things, they give me a weird pleasure. Cheers guys
 

when you turn on the ignition you should hear the fuel pump pressurizing the fuel system it's kinda like a hiss or a whirr..is that how you spell pressurizing

My battery is the original battery and it's almost 3yrs old..you really need to keep it on a tender when not in use anything more than a few days and i'll hook my old girl up.
I to don't think it's a good idea to just start the bike and let it run.
Even if i do a 12min tune i will still take her for a run after.
The Rocket is a great bike..it just needs a bit of TLC

Hi Rayjay, yeah, I get all that fuel pump stuff and other stepper/tps noises going on. I'm gonna go to the local store this morning to get some jump cables and see what happens.

After the jump cable charge process, I'm assuming that even after a good run, the battery will again fall back down to low Volts, is that what normally happens? or will it keep a charge for a while?

Also, here in Brazil where I live, the battery should be just fine as it never really gets so cold to worry about. We're in winter at the moment with a late spell of 28 degrees but can fall to almost freezing some days during July, but rarely does.
