My adventures in a custom exhaust

Good deal. Your talking to a fully certified welder in aircraft. Military and civilian. 20 plus years on military aircraft.F.A.A. type. I run a 400 miller inverter at work. SWEET MACHINE. I spent 3 months at a Vo-tech here in Oklahoma. All certs acquired from experience. Got good and got certified . Did you soap test work on exhaust or do any kind of pressure test?

You gotta be good to work on military!! I wish I could remember the model but its probably the size of a smart car lol. I've been training with a certified welder when time permits at work.My Achilles heel is aluminum..kicks my ass.
Someday I want to certify when I'm good enough.
I plugged it and put about 5psi in no soap bubbles.

So,

I've been wanting a louder exhaust and as you all know there is no options....well one now at competition werkes. But the 1100 price tag for a simple slip on is extremely high. They priced themselves right out of my business. I do love the way the factory exhaust looks. I recently removed the cat which helped a tiny bit. So I decided to rip the whole thing apart today and rebuild it properly. Here are some pics of my progress so far. I will finish up tomorrow.
Here is the whole exhaust minus the trim pieces.

Here are the cut lines I decided to start with. I want to keep two of the three mounts for the muffler.

Here is what the internals look like

Big pipe is what used to attach to the cat. Notice all the very small outlet pipes.

Thats it for now, tomorrow I will fab up new tubing and rebuild the muffler.
Hope this helps anyone looking for more growl.
A lot of work going on there, I like it however I just removed the whole apparatus and fitted an SC Project system that came off my Speed Triple. It shed 10.1kg off the weight of the bike.

Two questions - How does it run with that exhaust, better, worse or same-same? Have you pulled the plugs and checked insulator color? (for lean running)
#2. Is that OEM Speed triple plate/indicator holder assy?
