I plan on installing the triple K&N's soon, but really do not want to cut down my bear claw cover. Does anyone know of an aftermarket claw that is already cut and ready for the K&N's (I've seen the carbon fiber claw and really do not care for it)?

I really like what forum member Evil Mitch did with his, but I do not think I could accomplish the same without screwing my claw up (and I want to keep it intact in case I ever sell the bike). I thought I had come across a website or two that sold cut-down claws...?

Or..if anyone has a spare cut down claw laying around, I might be interested. Thanks!

The K&N RU-2780's fit under the stock claw with no problem. No cutting necessary.
You can do what I did and just use the stock claw until you get the confidence (or spare) to start cutting. I was so surprised at how easy it was to do that I couldn't believe I waited.
It really is a very simple and easy to cut piece of metal, you could cut it just fine with a nice sharp hacksaw and just sand the edges smooth it's that easy to cut. I picked up a cheap set of different size sanding drums that fit on a power drill to shape and smooth the edges after cutting them with a sawsall and hacksaw blade. Covered in tape the chrome didn't even discolor.
Someone with access to a bandsaw could make a really fancy cut.

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't have the nads to cut down my original claw! Hopefully I will stumble across a unwanted one

I may look for a spare as well. I thought about just installing the triple-K's and then putting the non-butchered claw back on, but I like the look of the partially exposed filters. Plus, it would seem to me that covering the filters up completely is somewhat contradictory to what I want to accomplish...which is getting more, cooler air to the engine.

Just wondering...for those who have used a Dremel tool...did you use a roto-zip type attachment, or a normal saw-blade attachment?
