I wound up getting the Highway Hawks and with shipping from Germany they came to $170 which is a lot but considering the alternatives they are well made, clear the reservoirs and I already spent 2k on a Vandemon slip on so what's another few buck at this point and I am after all buying all this stuff for my bike and not for me. I must say you went from stock fashion statement to an absolute fashion disaster with your mirror brackets though they look mighty fine for home brew.
Yeah I agree it’s not the prettiest solution but it’s actually not that noticeable with all black parts if your not looking for it.

They'll have to do and I fully expect to have to adjust to them but those solid arms sticking up on the ends are bad news all the way around. I've spent decades splitting lanes like a maniac on California freeways and though I don't get the opportunity as much as I used to now when I do those stock mirrors are a nuisance.

I have no problems with my bar-ends. They don't get in the way and give a clear view of the road and not my shoulders.
I have turned them round though so the wide end is to the outside not the inside as it just seems more logical to me.

I did the same. Made the bike (slightly) narrower and now the large parts of the mirrors are positioned to see things that would look larger in the mirrors.

I tried that and it’s fine as long as you’re not lane filtering. Going between vehicles just doesn’t work though as the bar end mirrors are practically the same height as car mirrors making it almost impossible to get through with the handlebars being as wide as they are.

Well so much for that idea. After paying closer attention to what I see in the bar end mirrors, which are flipped inward, I decided to cancel my order for the Highway Hawks. As is I see my elbows on the inside with good visibility where it matters and if I got those other ones I wouldn't see anything without going through contortions every time. I did order the Kuryakyn mounts which I'm keeping because they could come in handy one day.
