Metallic clicking noise on decel – anyone else?

ROCKET STORM 3 R 2025
Hey boys,

on my 2025 Rocket 3 R Storm I’ve started noticing a metallic clicking/ticking sound. You can hear it in the short video I attached – when revving slightly in neutral and then letting the revs drop, it makes this repeating clicking noise.
It comes from the front right side of the engine, in the area between the headers and the radiator.

The same sound appears while riding: It happens when riding in gear 2-3k RPM and I completely roll off the throttle → the sound appears continuously in a circle pattern, not just a single click, but ticking repeatedly as the bike engine-brakes.

Anyone experienced something similar?

I can't hear it, but I'm going deaf. Sounds like you could be describing (normal levels, hopefully) of valve chatter or the timing chain.

Ok, so just went out for a ride and I think I'm going to attribute the noise to the AIS. Either the reed valves or the solenoid itself, because I just removed all that and I dont hear it any more. And to be clear, the noise I heard was just at idle. I didn't have to rev it, or be decelerating, or anything. So not sure if its the same noise or not. The other thing is the AIS removal and blocking plates really didn't do that much for the decel popping as I first thought. Its still there. maybe a little less, that's all.

Thanks for the input! In my case the sound is not only at idle – it happens continuously when I roll off the throttle (engine braking) and also when revving in neutral as the RPMs drop. It’s a repeating metallic tick/click cycle from the front right side of the engine. So maybe similar, maybe AIS related too, but the pattern is a bit different.
It's actually quite annoying during the ride. Will check it with my dealer.

If you want to get rid of over lean decel pop you have to add some fuel to the last 6% of throttle. I did that on my old '05 RIII and the decel pop was almost eliminated. How to do that with the fuel tables you'll need someone with Gen 2 ECU experience.

As far as the noise from the valve train, when I went to pod filters on my RIII it released a herd of 'crickets' in the engine bay. The air box snorkel no longer muffled the noise.

Yeah, I'm not good at computer stuff. I got a BT moto tune. That's all I can do with fueling. I have a new tune from them that I'll have someone install after I put on the manifold and slip on
