Before I bought my 08 I had stopped in the Daytona shop during bike week in 2014 and planted myself on a new 14 tourer sitting on the floor. 15 minutes later not one salesperson approached me, even after I had made eye contact with 2 of them. I did not think that I would have to run one of them down to buy a new bike, especially during bike week. As my wife and I were walking out one of the walking dead asked me if I was interested in anything. Told him to f*** off and left.
I dont know what happened to this particular dealer, but it is usually linked to money and that one of the involved parties wasn't getting what they wanted. The other chatter isn't usually without merit, but would be minimized if money wasn't a problem.
Regardless, my hope is that a new dealer picks up the brand in your area. That is a big market.
The update kit is for pre-2009 standard bikes. It has updates for the following: cam chain system, 2nd gear, out put gear, spark plugs, spark plug wires, clutch springs, detent, electrical rerouting for ignition switch and I'm sure some other things I cant remember. It was said to be about $2200 worth of parts.
Another hoarder surfaces knew about the kit before about 80% of the rocket owners on here even knew what a Rocket was, but in my wierd way of thinking if I did not need it why the f**k buy it but others did now the guys who really need it are going to get screwed by the guys who have it sitting on the shelf gathering dust which takes me back to my original point HOARDERS.
I bought my first upgrade kit for $200, realizing that when it comes time for a tune-up, the included 6 spark plugs and wires would probably cost me that much from the Dealer. The rest is just spare parts. I bought the second kit when rumors surfaced that they were going up to $500. You call it hoarding, I call it smart shopping!

In talking with the dealer that used to be a triumph dealer here in norfolk. I think triumph is messing up a bit by taking all the bikes from closed dealers and selling them to auto auctioneers. The dump them cheaper then the actual triumph dealers can buy them for and yet the dealershave to do the warranty work on them. Does not seemquite fair if you ask me. Of course I would love to find a deal on a Trophy, or a 800 Tiger to add to my stable.
The dealership should have cleared it with Triumph regarding payment or how much before they started the work, it is called common sense business practice.
