Tonight I noticed the light bar on my 2011 was not on. I keep it on all the time. When I flip the switch I can hear the relay under the tank click. I also replaced this relay, I checked the fuses in the fuse box under the seat, all the wires appear to be plugged in, and I do not see where the bulbs are blown. Anyone have any idea what I might need to look at? It's under warranty, just hate to have the bike sitting at the dealers if it is something I can do.

Thanks
Curt

First rule of trouble shooting : K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid)

Check the bulbs , yes they can both blow at the same time.
Check for power (voltage to the socket , could be the ground connection)

I can attest to having both bulbs going out at the same time, Along with a few other things not working to par. The Wife and I just returned from a 1300 mile trip on our 2010 Rocket touring. The trip originating in Northern Arizona. We Trailered the Rocket to Barstow ca. to avoid 7 hours of desert riding. Our trip took us from Barstow through Fresno Ca, San Fran, Monterey (hwy 1 all the way to Solvang Ca) then Palm Springs, returning to Phoenix AZ. But not before making an unscheduled stop in Simi Valley Ca at Simi Valley Cycles. Along the way my rear tire just ran out of tread at 6200 miles. Chris in Service hunted down a Dunlop from the local Yamaha dealer, as he said he wouldn’t let us leave his parking lot without replacing the tired unsafe old Metzler. I pointed out a few other issues we encountered along the way to Greg the tech on duty. Both fog lamps went out in Monterey ca two day earlier, my fuel gage witch never worked right was now refusing to work at all, and a slight tapping in the engine was now prevalent, Greg said the tapping sounded like an exhaust leak from the #1 of #2 port. Greg looked at all the issues I pointed out, and told me the bulbs where indeed blown, but could have been caused by a spike in voltage. The rest of the issues were warranty covered and part intensive and we were on a schedule. So…we are now back at home in Northern AZ… but the Rocket is in Scottsdale at out dealer getting sorted out…Have to say the trip was spectacular!

just had the same problem with my fog lights worked on them today checked fuses bulbs they was good tested the switch and the wiring which while checking the wiring some how blew the 10 amp fuse then checked the rest of the fog light wiring could find nothing wrong but a new fuse back in oh btw sprayed some wd40 in the switch put it back togeather and had lights so the only thing i could think of is maybe a loose or dirty connection at one of the connection

Turned out it was the bulbs.Funny they both go at once. Anyway, replaced them with 55watt.

Now I have to figure out the sticky throttle which just started....

Thanks everyone!

Does it have a Throttlemeister? If so it needs adjusted. If not lube the cables.;)

My left side passing lamp bulb went out the first week I bought my bike. I replaced both with hyper yellow bulbs. I looked at the stock bulbs. They were from a Taiwan company called Auto-Lite. They were 35 watt bulbs. i searched the Auto-Lite site and could not find any 35 watt H3 bulbs. To me it appears Triumph is specing out the cheapest crap bulbs they can. I replaced my H4 headlamp bulb with a Sylvania Silverstar Ultra bulb. Now I have a bright headlamp. The rear tail lamp and turn signals are next.

Lubed the cable and it loosened up in a couple of trips....:)
FYI, the throttle grip itself rides right on the handlebar ... if it's kinda kitchy and hangs a little, some lube right under the grip will help. Careful about just greasing it, I did that and the throttle got so easy to turn I ended up taking it apart just to wipe the grease back off.
