My tires have 9800 miles on them. The rear tire has a ton of tread left, but is getting a lttle flat in the center. The front tire maybe has another 2k of life before reaching the wear bars, but has a fairly significant amount of flattening in the center. I keep the tires at the recommended pressures. Also, I'm pretty certain my guage is accurate. My car has the TPM system and it usuallly agrees with my guage. If they are off, it's never more than a pound and I figure that's just rounding (car is digital, gauge is analogue). We don't have a lot of twisties around here. Thus, the bike is subjected to mostly straight line ridiing. Does it sound like this is just normal wear and tear or should I expect more life out the tires? The tires are Michilen Pilots Road.

Hi
That’s a good mileage I use Metrzeler ive got a 240 on the back and i got 3000 miles out of it and just under 5000 out the front  i must stop doing burn outs

I only get 7000 kilometres out of a rear Metzeler, now on my third set. Lots of twisties round here.

Yeah,, those front tire burnouts will destroy your tire:D:D:D

Daryl you are talking about your Bird right? The R3 aint no more. :(
I'm sure you still flog the new T-Bird, but those days of rubber just mysteriously disappearing leaving a stop light are behind you aren't they? LoL

If neither of them have any cupping or unusual wear sounds to me like it's wearing nicely for mostly long straight highway rides. I'm envious that you've been able to log so many miles already. I'm also jealous that Triumph chose sizes for the Bird that allow for Michelin, you know how limited us poor R3 riders are in choice.

I'd like your opinion on Michelin bike tires, thats all I ever put on our cars except for the MINI of course. They make a huge difference in ride comfort and stability on the family sedans but I've never had them on a bike, were never in my size. Do they do the same for your bike as on a car? Are they smooth and stable, more so than another brand?
