Just a heads up for fellow Roadster owners. I was having an issue with light throttle, low load running in the 2000 RPM range (hesitation, stuttering, etc) and one of the things the dealer did was check for a tune newer than what came in my 2010 Roadster purchased last May. There is at least one newer than what was in there and they downloaded it (along with cleaning the CPS) and it seems to have helped some in that area. It also made the bike smoother, especiallly at 60MPH in 5th (2500RPM), run a little "cleaner" and less popping on decel. Not a huge difference, but noticeable. So if you've an early Roadster you might want to have your dealer check it out.

I don't think this would help since the computer controls the secondaries to help smooth out throttle response. I would think removing them would only make the throttle response more sensitive. Hopefully others more knowledgeable than I will chip in, but I would think the first things to do would be to check throttle cable adjustment, throttle body synch and clean the crankshaft position sensor.
Mine was never really bad in this manner, but the latest tune and CPS cleaning did help.

I have a 2011 Roadster, it runs very nicely except at low speed in low gears it's a bit jerky when on and off the throttle in traffic, I would love to smooth this out, otherwise it's all very good.
I have wondered if opening the secondaries up would help this condition ?

Unlikely.. I smoothed out my R3's low speed response ( as you described) by enriching it 3-5% at the bottom end L tables. Opening the 2ndries will lean it, if anything.
Mind you, you'll get way better acceleration on full chat! ;)
