This was exactly the situation the tuner at JHS was talking about . He said many come in and express how happy they are with the generic tune ecu maps they have uploaded , or copied from another owner but can't understand the little foibles they are experiencing . Pulls like a train and howls at full rpm but stall at junctions or experience the odd miss . Most he said , when dynod are over fuelling majorly at low rpm or throttle closed , washing the cylinders but then at full chat are running seriously lean even tho the fuelling and af parameters are well within the safe range according to the tune ecu figures ! He also mentioned , never buy a KTM LC4 out of warranty . Apparently the parameters of the ecu are changed on a regular basis , so the owner has to return to the dealer for an update . Money , money , money and something more and more manufacturers are doing !I thought they were great for my budget, just too hard for me ,put the money from yours towards a new pair matched to my weight and I’m really pleased with them.
I just picked up a new pc3 for less than £80 delivered but I guess they can’t/ won’t tune with that? As you can tell I like to do cheap if possible lol, runs ok with a generic tune ecu tune ,but never going to be as good as a Dyno tune specific to your bike.
Running pretty strong but went to Westonzoyland yesterday to a National Sprint Association meet and it stalled a couple of times in traffic, been tinkering with the clearance on the stepper motor and getting the TPS voltages cock on, motor pulls well but now has this stalling issue!
I just meant that with floor boards my leg might get warm. I love what you have done Nat. It really shows off your skills.I gotta admit Norm , they do get kinda warm in traffic but not as bad as I thought they would and I spent over 20mins in a queue at the weekend . Perfect for warming yer pasties tho !
A completely crap design then? Matches the manufacturing process too!Too short and as @Paul Bryant once mentioned , too many bends !
You don't have to change the tune if you don't want to, once the warranty is dead. But yes, unlike in the past all mfrs are having to patch the software to resolve issues. There have been one or two on recent Guzzis. On Euro5&6 - piggyback or outright replacement is going to be the only real way forrad. Euro4 is near impossible, I'm told.Apparently the parameters of the ecu are changed on a regular basis , so the owner has to return to the dealer for an update . Money , money , money and something more and more manufacturers are doing !
You do know that Nat has enslaved 1000's of Dartmoor pixies to do all this stuff. Problem is finding a good one - they have to be released after a week or so, or they pine for the hills.I love what you have done Nat. It really shows off your skills.
Hey Norm , thanks . Yes it is , he is doing the rear seat to match
I'm doing my paperwork !Nathan I can see u sat outside in your van haI'll see u in 20 mins
