BMW has owned the crown for suffering the highest rate of recall of any motorcycle line ever built. On top of that, due to their penchant for Inspector Gadget-like engineering and design, even the most mundane servicing or repair work will bleed you like a boatload of leeches.

At 24hp the Enfield is way under powered and i doubt it will sustain 60mph on the asphalt for more than 2 hours

Will have to check on that before making the final decision, they will start arriving to dealers around july, in the mean time i will find a KTM to start comparing, i'm not that interested in spending tons of money on repairs

Maybe it's a bit more reliable/robust than many of their more common bikes?

I know as much as you do since the bike is a new model and it has not hit the market yet, another reason to give it a second look before buying it

Doing it now, every year i go to a place i never seen before, i have seen the noth, south, west and some east, still a long ways to go to see it all

Agree, i wonder what is going to be like to get on a 300cc bike after riding a bike 2000 cc bigger

My experience is the it will feel very "flickable". It will not likely be fun at speeds over about 60 mph in traffic, even if it will do 80 mph. I would not take it out onto I-40 myself.

The first time a 40 ton truck goes by you traveling in the opposite direction on a two lane road, you will have to go home for a pants change.

The dealers are varied. Some good, some not so good. But this is always true of any marque.

I think it will be GREAT fun on twisty roads with light traffic, and if you have such roads, you will love it ... if it fits your physical geometry.

The 500 is plenty fast cor long rides, take Neida's ninja for exemple, the beaner is a little on the snall side but with the proper gearing is a capable bike, the KTM even tho is a 390 im sute it will blow past the Ninja

For what it's worth my wife has a 2013 Ninja 650 and I love riding it now and then. It is light and flickable and will go 100 mph on command. 70 mph on the highway without an issue and they are plentiful and inexpensive used. Easy to work on and parts are cheap as it is a Kawasaki after all.

The problem with the 650 is the location of the shock, it is a pain to lower it, did you forget that i'm a midget?
