2 - The Corbin is a great seat, but not for everybody. I love mine, but some find them too hard.
I just did 710 miles on my Corbin seat yesterday. Now resting my weary body @RKTNMYPKT abode in CA.

thank you for the input! I will let everyone know when I try this. I have a goodly amount of tread on the tires I have, too poor to ditch them. Yours is the first positive feedback I on the Corbin seat, thank you. I Will have to buy tires anyway so will try that first.
 
The Rocket comes standard with 240/50R16 rear and 150/80R17 front. Since you bike has the 240/55R16 rear tire size, it is a full inch taller than the stock tire. So right off the bat, the back end is a Half Inch taller than standard. By changing the rear tire to an Avon Cobra 240/50R16 you will lower the back axle a half inch.

Also you can lower the front 2 ways.

1) Change the standard front tire to an Avon Cobra 140/75R17. That size is very popular because it makes the front axle a Half Inch lower too. The turn in and overall handling is greatly improved. If put these tires on together at the same time, you will be amazed at how much better the bike handles. And you will be sitting a Half Inch lower front to back.

2) You can lower the front forks 12 MM by loosening the front tube clamps and sliding the forks up. 12 MM is all you can gain here. That is almost a half inch.

Most complete answer yet. I greatly appreciate your input. I love my "new" Rocket but have had some anxious moments trying to maneuver from a top in parking lots and stopping on steep inclines. I think the 1/2" will hep a lot. Plan is to wear out current tires and try shorter ones. This will also fix the 10% speedo error. Thank you again. Any owners groups in the PNW?

Thanks. I'm not so sure that will help much on the speedo error. It didn't help mine at all. There is a way though. With TuneECU you can change the speedo calibration.

If you can afford to spend some money on the Rocket, consider getting the tires sooner than wearing out the current tires. Maybe this spring. Also you need to get a few other up grades. BTW: do you know what up grades the previous owner has already done ?
 

I do not know history of upgrades. It has the Triumph performance exhaust no other apparent mods. I checked with owner before me and he said he thought it was stock, but then he did not tell me or I did not hear him tell me about the tire size being off. I am not a mechanic or an engineer but if the rear tire is taller it will be a greater diameter and hence change the speedo and odo readings.

You mention up grades, please elaborate, I am riding this bike till they pry me off of it or I fall down and can not get up.

Oh dear, you've been an gone an done it now! You want advice on upgrades? This will depend on how fat your wallet is and how lenient the Missus will be in her terms and conditions. This bunch of bad ass modifiers will empty your wallet in a matter of minutes!! Good luck in negotiating with the Missus...
