[Jan 3, 2015] 2nd Annual Run to the Keys (Key West, Florida)

Oh man . . . the Amtrak reservations open in three or four weeks for this time next year . . . what is the schedule for the "Third Annual" run to the Keys ? Is it the first full week in January ?

Are you sure that your real nickname isn't Cast Iron? I mean I've heard of stomachs being called by that name before, but a "steel stomach" - uhhhh - not!

And, just for the record, who are the lovely damsels holding up your arms in that picture? Your two daughters? Your wife and g irlfriend? Two random women that just happened to agree to take that shot for 10 bucks apiece? Two other guys' wives or daughters or simply two very compliant and understanding women that took pity on your azz and agreed to help make you look good... very good, in fact?

They've changed that sign since I was there in around 2000. They added the word "continental". Somebody must have noticed that Hawaii was a part of the Union.
 
Seriously, I'm talking to the missus about attending next year. I'm trying to find someone at Amtrak to confirm they will accept the Rocket (it appears to perhaps have been the template for their size limits). We prefer the Shirley Temple style drinks. We sure enjoy the weather and good company.

Neat link TriumPhil on Ballast Key -- new one on me. Next time I'm down there, I'd like to make the day visit to the Dry Tortugas, just because it's there.

Snorkeling or SCUBA diving around Fort Jefferson would be very, cool, Joe. Just watch out for those lionfish!
 
They were actually the boat crew. Very sweet girls.
