I'd tend to agree. Firstly, current 1000cc supersports bike already come darn close to 200 HP... so some of the original "monster power" V-Max attraction of yore is gone. Secondly, "there's no replacement for displacement" and, to me, 1'679 cc's ain't enough nowadays, be it in terms of torque or just image. Thirdly, the "neo/retro" bodywork might turn former V-Max owners on but it might look somewhat... uninspired or plain passé to 21st century riders.
