'08 R3T - Ol' Blue
If I were to get a set of Jardines (complete with headers) for Ol' Blue ('08 R3T), and a K&N stock replacement air intake, is there a Triumph tune available, or have I just gone down the road to TuneECU/TuneBoy/PC5 and having to consult the computer screen every time I hear a hiccup?

And if there is a Triumph tune, what can be expected in terms of h.p. with those three changes aqnd removal of the secondaries? (I know, triple K&Ns are the way to go, so don't bang that drum too loudly).

Thanks for the input.

The only other Triumph tune I know of is the TORS tune. That will run much too lean for the Jardines.

So, the answer to the second part of your question is, yes. That said, I've not had a reason to hook the computer up since I loaded the last tune. Once its good, it should stay that way.

Thanks for the invite and the info, odatbob. It sounds like you and I have a similar take on things as I am not a compooter whiz by any stretch. I've been thinking about the PC5 since I noticed that the Portland Triumph dealer has that setup on his dyno. Add to that the customer service problems with TuneBoy and the newness and relative isolation of TuneECU and PC is what's left.

Both you and Navigator have the Gipro-ATRE installed, but I'm not yet literate in that bit of geegaw. Nav likes it and recommends it for me. I need to do a little more research with the Service Manager who'll probably be doing the install.

You didn't mention if you've pulled the secondaries out. And I assume that you used the singular form for "k'n" meaning an under seat stock replacement element instead of the triples.

What kind of numbers are you pulling on the dyno?

And I'm not sure I can go all the way to 2xWalla, but if you're coming down through Satus Pass and the Gorge on your way to Tri-Cities, let me know and I'll buy lunch.

Well..I installed the Jardine complete system on my 2007 R3 and have the Dyno-Jet map for Jardines. Also installed the single K&N filter. All I can say is that the bike sounds wonderful, pulls like a freight train and experiences NO hesitation or flat spots.
Man..I just love it! Added Progressive 430 shocks to the rear and I am a really happy man.
EDo this...you won't be sorry!

I have the Jards, stock filter and had it dyno tuned yesterday with Tuneboy. We think its getting 146 hp at 5350rpm and 143lbs of torque atr 3250,so if you do any mods on top of that you would have to break 150 hp.
"We think" means the dyno was not calibrated and we added the gains onto my last dyno reading 12 months ago.
The shop has asked me to come back in a few weeks for some free dyno time to get the real HP and torque figs.

The mechanic ,who has never done a Triumph before, was amazed at the tiny stock filter and strangled air intake LOL
