intermittent coolant leak???

I've got one It only seems to occur after I've been riding, and it's only about the diameter of a quarter. After two or three days it will evaporate only to reappear after the next ride Anyone else experience this or have an idea about what might be causing it :?:

Your bike sites two or three days before the next ride? It is probably crying for the road.

No leak, but what I've noticed in the cooler weather, is a spot of coolant which condenses out of the coolant bottle breather tube occasionally... run hard, put up wet (hot).

That sounds feasible, it's been getting pretty cool around here at night, in the upper 20's to low 30's. Thanks Hombre 8)

I've seen this from my bike too after a long ride and based on it's location, I concluded that it was coolant overflow from the rubber tube attached to the overflow bottle (as Hombre suggests) and was actually working as designed...have you looked at that as the possible cause?

It sounds very reasonable to me since it only occurs after I've given the big girl a good thrashing :twisted: I'm thinking that cooler temps definitly play a role in it. The amount is so small it would take 2 yrs for her to run dry :wink:

I have had this for a bit of time. Would start it and a couple drops would fall from what looks like the water pump. Happens once in a blue moon, took it to the dealer and they could not find anything. I ripped everything apart and tightened all the hoses and it did'nt fail for the longest time. Went to load the R3 on a trailer to go to Biketoberfest,little chilly that day. Next day I pack the trailer and there's a quarter size coolant spot under the r3. Has notleaked in 3 weeks now. Wonder if cool temps let coolant leak out from the pump shaft?
