The insurance here in the U.K. doesn’t tend to go on class of bike, more on the capacity and where you live. If you live in a City, like London Birmingham etc. You can expect to pay a premium, because bike theft being prevalent there and **** drivers!
Weird, must be a British thing, I probably haven't taken the key out of the ignition a half dozen times in 15 years, not even when I go into Walmart. I've never heard of anyone I know getting a bike stolen.

It's mainly a large town & city thing.
Areas of high population always attracts more scumbags & that's what skews the statistics substantially.

That's right, I live 25 miles outside the big city in a relatively quiet little town. My postcode is one of the lowest for vehicle crime in the UK, and with 54 years no-claims, my premium is very modest. In the UK it's all about where you live and how much experience you have. Like all insurance it's about risk, and all you're doing is paying someone else to take the risk for you. If you take more of the risk yourself, and ask them to take less, it'll be cheaper ! 😎

It does depend on what bike you’ve got, Japanese ****** rockets and twist’n’ go scooters especially. But in some areas of the U.K. bike theft is at epidemic levels! A friend who lives in London, has to have so much security on his bike at home it’s almost ridiculous!

Yeah, I've always lived rural, we always leave the keys in the car in case a neighbor needed it in an emergency.
