Instrument Harness failure

There is a factory mod for the wire connectors to the harness. I put it on when I put a new switch in. Couldn't say if it made any difference because my instruments were still working.

Anybody intimately familiar with the instrument harness failure? i.e. which wire and where, symptoms etc... I believe mine is going, more and more frequently I turn the key and get no instrument sweep, everything else seems to powerup like the GIpro and Spotlights... so the switched power is working.
Would much rather troubleshoot and repair myself than have the knucleheads at the dealer screw around with it.
Any Info would be much appreciated:?

I had the same thing when the dealer had it for a service. Turned out the instrument plug was just touching ,sometimes it would work ,sometimes not.
It probably happened when some dumpty changed the handlebars :whistle:
