Arrived today - this was a rush order as I'm importing my R3 to the UK in 10 days or so, phoned the sales shop in Daytona on the 20th March, and they made it in CA and sent it here to Florida very very fast - top marks! Got stung for FL sales tax though, came in at $454, CA and FL residents will get stung, I had more time I would have sent it to some frinds in Atlanta, anyhoos...

Just put it on this afternoon (took a minute or so to get the seat aligned properly, shd be no more problems), and it is VERY firm compared to the gel seat - some before and after pictures below - still getting used to it, only did 10 miles this evening at low speeds (beach limits are 35 mph and a lot of drunk spring breakers on the roads!), I think I may be sitting a tad higher than the gel (I was expecting lower:confused:) tho that is probably my imagination - did one very fast 0-60mph from the lights and it was just as I was expecting, I could plant my arse in the wedge  and I felt much more in control - first impressions - very very pleased with it - went all carbon-fibre look leather in the end (it is an embossed nylon process I believe, supposed to be grippy, which it seems to be), mainly as I will be buying another Rocket III in the USA next October, so I plan on bringing the seat over with me in my luggage! The new project bike will be all black carbon fibre, or maybe a subtle dark carbon fiber colour, still, got 6 months to think about that one ... so I figured all black CF-look would go with both bikes ...

You live in a state with no income tax and begrudge the sales tax?

Sweet looking seat though... and I'm terribly jealous you'll be riding in the land where your r-3 was born.

Taxes, what taxes!!!??? LOL, I tried to avoid any sort of tax on principle:eek:, back in the UK we have gazillions of taxes, far worse than the USA - one of the reasons for buying the Corbin Stateside is that it's cheaper than the USA and the UK VAT tax (17.5pc) is avoided - I'm also looking forward to riding her in the UK, will hopefully do some trips to Wales, Scotland and Ireland to vsist mt Dad's grave in Mayo - and the UK mob are doing Le Grand European tour - Santander, N Spain - I'm defo up for that one too, the beauty of living in the UK is that you can be in France via fast ferry in an hour or so ... well it's 1pm here, I think I'll go try and find some bends and see what the seat is like!:D

Have had my corbin fastgun for about four years now still as brick hard as the day I bought it, I do not know how anyone can ride a bike with a soft seat:eek:
The seat should be the least of your problems- your legs are way to short and you look to cute to be riding a Rocket:D
In America it is probably acceptable but please get rid of the dummy tit(pacifier) before you hit the UK.;)

At long last, I picked up my '05 and had the inaugural ride home on a dusty dirty barn Rocket. Oil as clean as a whistle though... and if anyone has ever ridden a Norton Commando Interstate... I feel like I've just entered the 21st century from the mid 20th with no stops between.

OH

MY

GOD

I do feel for your taxes in the UK. I live in one of the poorest counties in Maine.... which means the USA. I feel your pain, but if it means the most remote possibility of decent roads not full of frost heaves and holes, I gladly pony up.

I was SHOCKED at how hard it is ...

BUT

Been scooting around today at the beach, v few bends but anyhoos my impressions so far are - v v linked to the bike, tactile, is so hard actually that all road surfaces can be felt, which is EXACTLY what I want, I'm sure this was (part of the Corbin design feature) I don't particularrly WANT an R3 gel jobbie, it is fine for *****ing around town, but come on - this is a bloody powerful cycle and it needs something like this...

just my opinion :D:D
