I'm so old.......

Very Neat Guys...

Hi Triumph friends!!!!

Thank you so much for the warm welcomes and such quick response. It makes me happy that I am in the company of such friendly guys with a cool item in common - the mighty Triumph Rocket III. I've had offers of on my way back home to stay with some of you and I can tell ya that is a very generous offer, thank you so much.

I can't wait to take possession of this red and white beast and try 'er out. What a heck of a big rear tire the R3's have!!!!! Takes a lot of tire for that big 2300c.c. engine. I'm not real fond of living in Illinois but I guess everyone's gotta live somewhere. The only thing I like about Illinois is that it's sort of in the heart of dirt track motorcycle racing. The mile at Springfield........the Indy Mile.......races in Michigan and Ohio and also Minnesota. Hope to get to a few of those places on my big Rocket III.

I love my Bonneville, and will keep it and bring it down to Texas in the back of my pickup when I come to make the winter down there this coming winter in the travel trailer. It's alot lighter than the Rocket and will be easier to load and unload out of the bed of my pickup. It's pretty quick but it's just not "Rocket Quick."

Thanks again for the cordial Rocket III welcome.

Ryan

Another welcome from Australia, Ryan. That big back tyre is the cause of much discussion and debate on here. We chew through them pretty fast and, apart from the standard Metzler, there's only 2 other brands of bike tyre to choose from - Avon and Bridgestone (which has a higher profile). And they're not cheap. Some have gone for car tyres - "darksiders' we call them (or they call themselves). It's not for me but plenty swear by them. You'll be able to research your first tyre selection on here and also get PLENTY of advice.

My tip: go with the Bridgestone Exedra Max.

Don't believe him he has Shares in Brigdestone Go Darkside and have a Real Fat bottomed Girl not to mention Traction

Na we like the extra hp

we dont need that oversized trainingwheel yet not old enough
Oi!!.... thats a enough of the "OLD" You young Whipper Snipper!!!!
Ah but I don't lose no HP in Wheel Spin and as far as training wheels are concerned... I don't think So.... why don't you post up a closeup picture of your rear tyre to see how much of a chicken strip you have .... you know I'll be doing inspections in September (I can't wait to get up there and see you and the other up there, should be a friggin good time...I have just finnished a batch of my Honey Bourbon!!!)

Good one fellas ... Ryan will bolt now the noisy , uncouth , rebellious Aussies have chirped up , slinging your insults and with your childish name-calling ... good onya's ... welcome mate , only joking .

Bahahahaha its all good OLD fella na i dont ride that fast im sure u would leave me in my dust but i do use the whole of my rear tyre no problems there i will sit back with the sane people in the pack come september lol
