Ignition in cold

My rocket was in the garage for 2 months now. Today I thought I will do the checkup and it did'nt start. I mean all the lights come up, but when I try to start the engine, it fails to ignite after some sound. So I am assuming the battery is not down since all the other lights are coming up. Any insights ???

It probably is the battery. Most Triumphs like a fully charged battery to start AND run. Even 75% discharged the battery will still light up all the lights. Give it a few hours on the charger and try again.

I'd also check the cleanliness of the negative battery terminal. I couldn't believe how quickly it had corroded. I use a Battery Tender to keep it at peak power. It really labors when starting in 30 F degrees.

I'm gonna' invest in one of those oil/crankcase heaters for cold weather starting.

You can buy a battery tender at just about any auto parts place.
You might also want to think about getting a little better battery,
say the PC625.
It's the best, it fits, and its cheap, (well less than a hundred bucks).

Bought a PC625 and the bugger still did not start at 36F and had the jump the puppy!
Next time I'll put a heater in the storage unit for a couple of hours.

The engine is just too massive for a pansy bike battery . . period!!

..I still had problems starting after I put in the odyssey 625, until I got this 3 amp constant charger..no problems since..in my unheated garage here in Maryland..

Absolutely. You just can't leave the R3 off a charger for any extended period in cold weather and have any reasonable expectation that it will fire. I use a Battery Tender on both my Rocket and my Harley. They save a lot of frustration.
