Idle Plague Attacks - GRRRRR

Shoot, won't be able to get around to even looking at it until Friday evening, and then maybe sometime Sunday afternoon.

I noticed on BikeBandit that there are TWO throttle position sensors, a Primary and a Secondary.

Got my new mirrors on though! It looks good! Just doesn't go very well!.. :)
The stock mirrors work better, but these are okay.. and they look cool.. :)

As was recommended to me by a fellow "dot com ****head" if you have tuneboy, try resetting the ISCV (a function in Tuneboy), I did and it cleared my idle issue right up. Mine was doing the same as yours, when coming back to idle it would go to about 450-600 RPM and hover there then eventually die. I was in the Smoky Mountains when mine started acting up and rode home this way. The bike ran fine when it wasn't idling or rather trying to idle.

Probably should have used Tune Boy and now wishing I had, but I have a PC-III. All I can do is watch the signal the throttle position sends. It's fluctuating at the closed position with the ignition on, but engine off, as Hombre stated.

For now, I am going to just cleaning connections as Tomo outlined in another thread, since it also makes sense that if the connections are dirty, readings would be faulty. My bike has been through some serious rain over the years, so it's highly possible that those connections need to be cleaned up wether they are the problem or not.

Sure sounds like the same issue though. Mine runs great once you get out of the idle range.. :)

Dave - there is a Tuneboy group buy going on now at the 675 forum. You could get rid of the PCIII too.

Here's some other threads on the topic..

Cadfather - there has been enough name calling on here regarding the other forums lately. Please be polite, there are good people on all of the sites.:)

After reading Sightglass's post I'm going to go ahead and take it to the dealer this weekend and let them play with it and take my money.. :) They like my bike anwyays, so maybe they won't rape me too bad!.. :) I just don't have the time to really get down and work on it like I want to.. Dang job gets in the way..

I'm took the PC-III off last night and cleaned all the of the main connections and plugged the O2 sensor back in. Also have the bike stripped down to just the bike so the dealer can work on it easier. I'm going to have them load the latest Triumph TOR map for now and see how that goes.

I saw the group buy on TuneBoy, but will probably wait on that. It does offer alot of options in setting up the bike.

I just dug up a recall #43973 It says " Dealers will inspect and download new engine management software free of charge. The recall began on October 17. 2007. Owners may contact Triumph at 678-854-2010". This is regarding the idle-stall issue. You shouldn't have to pay for your software download. I am about to contact my dealer about my bike also. You can change maps all you want, but if the firmware in the ECU is flawed it won't fix the problem.
