I should have got a Harley

Swapped bikes for a short time with a mate who owns a vrod . Didn't find it exciting at all .it had an1150cc motor .maybe these were duds, actually I was wanting to get of the vrod but my friend had disappeared up the road.

As was the EVO engine. Is it not a true Harley?

Don't know how you work that out .. EVO's are a better engine than twin-cams i reckon. If it's got HD on the tank it's a Harley .. isn't it. Try taking a V-Rod to your local Porche dealer for warranty work ;)

I'm fairly sure my 1990 softail was a Harley Davidson if it wasn't it sure fooled me. But a Ford Maverick was not a Ford just a rebadged Nissan Patrol

The point I'm trying to make is that this engine performs because Harley had nothing to do with it's development . The not being a real Harley is tongue in cheek . They obviously needed help developing an engine that could compete with the rest of the market

Just pointing out that Porsche designed the EVO motor long before they worked on the Vrod.

The thing about the VRod is that it looks more refined than the rest. It's the fact that it's metric and liquid cooled, rather than who developed the engine per se, that make it seem like a rebadged something else to me.

Well i'm in the clear then ... cause if i have another HD it will be a EVO engined FXR ... so really i won't be joining the throng of Harley buying mid-life crisis dress-up pirates buying butt bling :D
